The
Dutch Helpline is a telephone service created
in 1996 to provide information to the Dutch. You may call (07)
3393 0079. |
| |
The
Friendly Visiting Network is a network of volunteers
able and willing to visit people who feel that they are becoming
isolated in the community for various reasons. DACA attempts
to match people to be visited with visitors in their area, to
reduce travelling. |
| |
If you would like to be visited
by a Dutch
speaking visitor, you may contact the Dutch Helpline (07)
3393 0079 or ask someone to do it for you. |
| |
If you would like to volunteer
as a potential visitor, please contact the Dutch Helpline. A
registration-form will be mailed to you after which you may
be able to be matched with a request in your area. |
| |
If no one in your local area requires
to be visited at that moment, you will be so advised and listed
for future contact. |
| |
| The
DACA Resource Centre is at present located at
the Prins Willem Alexander Village at Birkdale Qld. The management
of this village has kindly offered office space to DACA. Within
this space the resource centre has been established to collect
Dutch-Australian (historical) material such as books, magazines,
newsletters and videos, to be preserved for future generations.
As part of this effort, DACA published in 2001 the book Our
Story –– Experiences of the Dutch in Queensland. |
 |
| Contributions to the Centre are most
welcome. Please ring the Helpline number or write to our PO Box
address as listed at the bottom of this page. |
 |
| DACA is dependent on small grants of
various Netherlands Benevolent Funds. Further donations by individuals
and organisations are gratefully accepted. |
 |
| We acknowledge the support of our Dutch
member organisations by their membership and advice. |
